Actor James McAvoy has recalled his “rough” first meeting with his celebrity crush Jennifer Aniston. The Scottish star, 45, shared his awkward encounter with the Friends actress, 55, while at a party in Hollywood at the start of his career. He admitted to having a crush on Jennifer when he first moved to Los Angeles. James confessed: “I did meet her and it wasn’t great. Not because she’s not great.” The Split actor explained how he crossed paths with Jennifer in the early 1990s when he was “really young”. While appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, James revealed: “I met Lucy Liu. And Lucy Liu was really, really nice to me and she was like, ‘Come meet my friends’.” He said Lucy, 55, led him to a small group of her pals that included Jennifer. James said: “I got parked right beside Jennifer Aniston. And just as [Lucy] was like, ‘Hey, guys, meet my new friend James,’ instead of saying that, she got pulled aside by a guy she went to high school with. She went away and I was just left standing with all these people going, ‘Hey, what’s up, I’m new in town’.”
Hayden Panettiere has taken aim at her former partner Wladimir Klitschko, accusing him of giving her no choice when it came to signing over full-custody of their daughter, Kaya, now seven, back in 2018, amid the actress’s substance abuse issues. How far can someone bend before they break? That’s the eternal question in Four Good Days, a new drama about addiction and hope starring Glenn Close and Mila Kunis. The story begins with a frantic knock at Close’s front door. She opens it to find an almost unrecognizable Kunis, begging to come home while she goes through heroin withdrawals. Based on a true story, the film reveals a decade-long losing battle with opioids, no matter what actions mother Deb or daughter Molly take. Molly’s final chance at getting clean is a shot that blocks the effect of opiates on brain cells – essentially preventing her from getting high. But there’s a catch – she has to be off drugs for a week beforehand. Entertainment reporter Kim Holcomb talked to Close and Kunis about their roles, working with each other, and Close’s unexpected performance of “Da Butt” at the Oscars. HOLCOMB: “What rang the most true about your interactions on screen together?” CLOSE: “Each of us had talked to the actual people we were playing, it was based on a fantastic piece of reporting. We really, really wanted to try to be truthful about these characters and what they went through. We loved working together from the very first moment. And that, a friend of mine once said, it’s like skating on smooth ice.” KUNIS: “Playing against Glenn Close is the easiest job anybody will ever have. It’s the least amount of acting schmacting you will ever have to do.” HOLCOMB: [More]
