Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling met on the set of the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines, in which they costarred as love interests Romina and Luke. The movie was a critical and commercial success, and it marked the beginning of a beautiful romance between the two actors. According to an interview with Eva Mendes in The Guardian, the two actors were immediately drawn to each other when they met on set. Mendes described the experience as “instant chemistry,” and said that she and Gosling “just clicked.” The actress revealed that they spent a lot of time together during the filming of the movie, and that their relationship quickly developed into something more serious.
