Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio (born November 11, 1974) is an American actor and producer known for biographical and period films. He has won an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and three Golden Globes. As of 2019, his films have grossed over $7.2 billion globally. DiCaprio gained fame with Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Titanic (1997), and later transitioned to varied roles, including collaborations with Martin Scorsese. His production company, Appian Way Productions, and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation focus on environmental issues. He is a UN Messenger of Peace and was named one of Empire’s 50 greatest actors in 2022.
